Off to Maidenhead and a walk around the Green way today, a rather nondescript grey day but at least it wasn’t raining.
The little nature reserve seemed to be distinctly drab and lifeless, very little birdsong and hardly any colour worth mentioning. Made me thankful that we’d moved to Chichester.
The pond in the Dell had been cleaned out with all the plant growth cut back, much better and ready for Spring to enable it to grow back again.
There were several pairs of Mallard in the Cut but even they kept quiet and hid themselves away under some fallen trees. No Teal this time.
The only growth to relieve the grey landscape was a tree that has come out into blossom. The flowers looked a bit like hawthorn but it wasn’t, must find out what it was later.
