Another bright sunny day with the forecast for the next few days to be even warmer as the easterly breeze moderates.  We’re on track to experience the warmest April for decades, and one of the dries
t too; so different from earlier in the year. Lynda wants to see the cowslips so it’s off to the Northern part of the Centurion Way and Hunters race.

The flowers are really blooming now; the dandelions are rampant infesting so many of the fields. So are the buttercups, much more dainty but just as profuse. Together  they give a distinct yellow tinge to the grassland.

Arriving at Hunters Race we’re not disappointed, they cover the earthworks creating quite a spectacle that we won’t easily forget.

The blossom and bluebells are starting to decline now but these forget-me-nots are in full bloom providing a splash of colour on the old railway embankment. Shame that they look like cultivated ones rather than a wild variety.
