There had been heavy rain during the night but there was a short break in the weather before the main part of Storm Dennis would strike later in the afternoon. Low tide and lots to do so the short walk around Bosham Hoe was in order.
Walking through the fields this glorious patch of snowdrops came into view; clearly cultivated but in a rather attractive wood appearing like bluebells to carpet the ground. Not much else to see unfortunately.
Once at the harbour a rather desolate view presented itself, grey and seemingly devoid of life. No man nor beast seemed to want to venture out. After a while some signs of life became evident, in particular a huge flock of crows flying over Cobnor Point, quite why they congregated there is a mystery.
I bit further on a few geese came into view sheltering in a gutter in the mud looking very sorry for themselves and surprisingly immobile. Right in the distance towards East Head there was a cloud of small birds weaving about, too far away to identify for certain but probably Dunlin.
One of those days that made a cup of coffee afterwards particularly enjoyable!
